Feminism has so many different meanings that people take it to mean very little. You can’t really give feminism one exact meaning because it just has so many different aspects. Some theorists believe that feminism should be called feminisms. The actual definition of feminism is extremely hard to come by however, the Society textbook defines it as “the advocacy of social equality for men and women, in opposition to a patriarchy and sexism.” There are three different levels of feminism, social, radical and liberal feminism. Feminism itself is a social, political and cultural circumstance that is pro-woman. Feminism is also the study of women dealing with the harmful aspects which some lives may include, language, religion, abuse and socialization. The main point that feminist want to spread throughout the world is that women are just as valuable as men and therefore should be treated just as equally.

Being that I was born in the middle-lower working class I grew up where the people came in all shapes, sizes, colors, creeds, backgrounds etc… I was very fortunate in that I was not surrounded by one race or class as some people are. I find it amazing how many people come to a place like Bowling Green and feel like they are living a city lifestyle. Many who come to school here have never seen a person of color.

Essay Paper on Women in the Military

There is currently a great deal of discussion surrounding women on the battlefield. Being someone who has served in the military for 8 years and fought in two conflicts along side women I have seen no reason to deny women an equal opportunity in the military. The main reason people argue against women on the battlefield is that they feel that the women will be a distraction for the male soldiers. The people who argue this point say that the male soldiers will feel that they have to protect the female soldiers while in a combat situation, and that will lead to the male soldiers making decisions based on personal feelings and emotions.
