The language and style of the custom essay
You have researched the required academic sources and developed a coherent structure for your essay. You have identified the main points you will stress and worked out the thesis statement. The next stage is writing out the rough draft which after revision will become the final one.
The language used makes up a major part of your grade (even if you do not write the essay for an English class) so be sure to pay sufficient attention to this aspect of essay writing. There are several principles to keep in mind for your language to be appropriate.
Please remember that custom essay writing is not like writing a note to a friend or venting your feelings into your blog. An essay is an academic piece of writing; therefore, it should use formal language suitable for scholarly articles. Do not use contractions such as “aren’t” or “doesn’t”, colloquial expressions (e.g., “I need to figure it out”) and slang. Try to build complex sentences instead of using simple ones with repetitive patterns (e.g., instead of “This question is very important. It deals with public opinion” it is more preferable to write, “The question dealing with public opinion is very important”.
On the other hand, do not overwhelm your essay with special terminology when there is no need to use it. Do not resort to overly formal and old-fashioned words; it does not make you look smarter. Instead your professor may get an impression that you are trying to hide your ignorance about the topic behind flowery expressions. Avoid trite metaphors and cliches (e.g., “at this point in time”); their abundance will not help your essay look new and original, the effect will be quite opposite.
Keep these guidelines in mind when developing your rough draft and then polishing it to the final version. The language of your custom essay is no less important than its content, and your own thoughts put into brilliant wording will produce even more impact on the reader.
